At LMC Healthcare Bariatric & Weight Management, we are dedicated to helping you maximize your weight loss success with our preoperative program. This service is available to all patients who are undergoing weight loss surgery at Surgical Solutions Network & SmartShape Weight Loss Centre. The cost of the preoperative program is included in your surgery price.
The preoperative program was designed with the goal of supporting you through every stage of your weight loss journey. Our team of experienced professionals, including bariatric nutrition educators and mental health specialists, will work with your surgical team at Surgical Solutions Network & SmartShape Weight Loss Centre to ensure you are set up for success before and after surgery.

Comprehensive Preoperative Support
The preoperative program includes two virtual appointments with the team at LMC Healthcare before your surgery as well as one virtual appointment two-weeks after your surgery. LMC will contact you to set up these appointments.
Two Virtual Appointments Before Surgery
Psychologist Consultation: One of the most important aspects of your preoperative preparation is ensuring your psychological readiness. During this appointment, you’ll meet with a psychologist who will assess your mental and emotional preparedness for surgery, offering support and guidance tailored to your needs.
Bariatric Nutrition Educator Consultation: You’ll also meet with a bariatric nutrition educator to review essential dietary instructions leading up to your surgery. During this session, you’ll be introduced to the dietary plan you’ll follow after surgery, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions related to your nutrition or surgery preparation.
Two-Week Post-Surgery Virtual Appointment
After your surgery, you’ll have a follow-up appointment with a bariatric nutrition educator to review your post-surgery nutritional needs and ensure you’re adjusting well to your new diet. We’ll also discuss long-term care options and introduce you to our AfterCare Program which provides ongoing support as you navigate life after surgery.
